# Phone Validator

Check if your contacts' mobile phones are real cell phones, with your own Phone Validator key.

Validate Phone checks the Mobile Phone on each contact and fills in four columns:

| Column | What it means |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Phone Type | Cell Phone, Landline, VOIP, Toll-Free, Unknown, Fake or Invalid |
| Phone Company | The phone company, for example T-MOBILE |
| Fake Number | Yes or No |
| Phone Location | Where the number was issued (from its area code), not where the phone is now |

It is **free in Parvenu credits**. It uses your own Phone Validator key, so Phone Validator bills your account for each number checked.

## Connect your Phone Validator API Key to Parvenu

1. Log in to your [Phone Validator](https://www.phonevalidator.com/) account and copy your API key.
2. Navigate to Parvenu's [Integrations](https://app.parvenu.io/app/integrations) page.
3. Find Phone Validator, under Data Validation.
4. Paste your API key and click "Save Key".

## Validate the phones on a list

1. Navigate to the [Lists](/features/lists.md) page.
2. Open the list you want to check.
3. Click "Add Enrichment".
4. Select "Validate Phone" and confirm.

Contacts with no mobile phone are skipped.

## Validate phones as you find them

When you run [Find Mobile Phone Numbers](/features/enrich/find-mobile-phone-numbers.md), tick "Also validate the phone with Phone Validator". Each number is checked as soon as it is found. This box is off by default.

## In a Flow

Add the "Validate Phone" step after a Mobile Phone step, or switch on "Also validate the phone" inside the Mobile Phone step. Then add a condition such as "Fake Number is No" to keep only real numbers.

## Good to know

* Only the Mobile Phone column is checked, not the company phone.
* A fake number is not deleted. It stays on the row with Fake Number = Yes, so you can filter it out.
* For numbers outside the US and Canada, include + and the country code.
* If you have not saved a key, the run stops and asks you to add one on the Integrations page.
